Data Protection Notice (KVKK)
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This notice is issued to meet the duty to inform under article 10 of Turkish Law no. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).
Why this page is about Turkish law. The site is operated from Turkey, so KVKK is the law that governs how your data is handled, whatever language you are reading in. This is an English translation of the Turkish notice, provided so that it can be read; the Turkish text remains the operative one.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Denizin Yemekleri, publishing at denizinyemekleri.com. Contact address: info@denizinyemekleri.com
2. Personal data processed and the purposes of processing
Only the data the site needs in order to work is processed:
- Identity and contact data (the name and email address you type into the comment form) - to publish your comment, to reply to you if needed and to manage comments.
- Transaction data (the comment text, the rating you give a recipe) - to publish the content and to calculate the recipe average.
- Transaction security data (IP address, time of submission) - to block spam and automated submissions and to keep the site secure.
- Transaction security and usage data (browser and device information, pages viewed, the source you arrived from, cookie records) - to measure use of the site, improve the content and operate the ad slots.
This data is not used on its own for automated decision making or profiling. For the processing that happens inside the advertising and analytics services, the relevant provider's policies apply.
3. Method and legal grounds of collection
Data is collected electronically, automatically while you use the site, and directly from you if you fill in the comment form. The legal grounds are:
- Explicit consent (KVKK art. 5/1) - for the data you provide when you fill in and submit the comment and rating form, and for personalised advertising and analytics cookies.
- Legitimate interest of the data controller (KVKK art. 5/2-f) - for the IP address and transaction security data processed to block spam, prevent abuse and maintain the technical security of the site.
- Compliance with a legal obligation (KVKK art. 5/2-ç) - where legislation requires records to be kept.
4. Transfer of personal data
Data is transferred to the following parties to the extent necessary for the site to function:
- The hosting provider - because the site files, the database and the server logs are held on their servers.
- Google LLC (abroad) - within the scope of advertising (AdSense), measurement (Analytics) and cookie consent management (Funding Choices). This transfer is made abroad and, as regards personalised advertising and analytics cookies, rests on your explicit consent.
- Competent public institutions - only where legislation requires it and within the scope requested.
Beyond these, data is not sold, rented or transferred to third parties.
5. Your rights under article 11 of KVKK
By applying to the data controller you may exercise the following rights:
- To learn whether your personal data is being processed
- To request information if it has been processed
- To learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose
- To know the third parties to whom the data is transferred, in Turkey or abroad
- To request correction of data that is incomplete or processed incorrectly
- To request deletion or destruction of the data within the conditions set by the law
- To request that correction, deletion and destruction be notified to the third parties the data was transferred to
- To object to a result against you arising from analysis of the processed data solely by automated systems
- To claim compensation if you suffer damage because personal data has been processed unlawfully
6. How to apply
To exercise your rights, write your request to info@denizinyemekleri.com together with information that lets us establish your identity. Your application will be concluded as soon as possible and in any event within thirty days.
If you want your comment deleted, writing from the email address you used to submit it and saying which comment on which recipe will make it quicker.
